Decision-making in aesthetics: root coverage revisited.
Over the years, numerous surgical techniques have been introduced to correct labial, gingival recession defects. Aesthetic concerns are usually the reason to perform these procedures. Clinical studies have evaluated many of the techniques. The depths of the defects have been measured before surgery and at a follow-up examination after 6 months or later. Results in terms of mid-surface root cove...

Recent findings of neuroscience have affected how we see aesthetics and art. Nevertheless, while it is often suggested that neuroscience will soon off...
متن کاملPredicting intertidal organism temperatures with modified land surface models
Animals and plants in the marine intertidal zone live at the interface between terrestrial and marine environments. This zone is likely to be a sensitive indicator of the effects of climate change in coastal ecosystems, because of several key characteristics including steep environmental gradients, rapid temperature changes during tide transitions, fierce competition for limited space, and a co...
متن کاملPhotosynthesis during desiccation in an intertidal alga and a land plant.
This study was undertaken to determine how photosynthesis tolerates desiccation in an intertidal alga Fucus vesiculosus L. and a terrestrial sunflower Helianthus annuus L. Photosynthetic O2 evolution generally was inhibited at low water potentials (psiw) but more in sunflower leaves than in Fucus fronds at the same psiw. As psiw decreased, less carbon accumulated in an organic carbon store in F...
